You will find Henton Village hall about 3 miles west of Wells on B3139 Burnham road.
At the moment the Waterboard are installing a new main and there may be restrictions along this road especially for large vehicles. The latest information we have is below:
The official diversion is via Cheddar and Wedmore. However at the moment there are Traffic Lights in operation.
However when the road is closed local traffic can, with care, use other routes but these are not to be used by large lorries and are unsuitable for those pulling trailers. The lanes are all single track with soft verges and pot holes as well as blind bends; thus not suitable if you are having to back up with a trailer.
The Waterboard are now working in Henton by the Village Hall but access should be made available at all times.
Bristol Water are aware that the school bus will need to come through although at the moment with all schools closed this is not an issue.
Further restrictions will apply as work progresses as follows:
Wells Road, Henton – Works has started from 10th February for 6 weeks
Wells Road, Bleadney – Works to start under a road closure from 6th April for 8 weeks. This will have the same issues with the school bus (if running) as noted above. The scheme was expected to be fully completed by 29th May.but we understand becuse of problems that were not anticipated it may stretch over the Summer months
